Chicago Bears Rumors? Any info?
I'm a huge Bears fan and I know free agency is in a week so I didn't know if anyone has heard anything on any Rumors. If so please describe and attach any links to go with it! Thanks!

Many of the Bears free agents will not be retained.
Melton is coming back under the franchise tag...that's 8 mill against the cam leaving 5 mill to spend.
The Bears are talking about restructuring Peppers deal, signing Cutler to a extension in order to free up cap space.
There is also talk about possibly trading Hester for a 3rd, 4th or 5th round pick.
Urlacher is doubtful to return at his current rate. If he's willing to take a huge pay cut to the likes of 2.5 to 3 mill per, that is the only way he stays in Chicago.
McClennin is not being moved to middle linebacker. Despite the rumors, he's a edge rusher and doesnt do well in coverage.
The new coaches are very interested in Evan Rodriguez as a possible TE/Hback. He fits exactly with the type of player Trestman's system uses in the TE role. E Rod is a great blocker, has excellent hands and is much quicker than Davis.
Word is the Bears want to keep Izzy for another year, however he wont be a starter anymore.
The Bears new offense will be a mix between what the Packers run and what the Saints run. Expect a spread offense that can also run the ball very well. Kromer the Bears new OL coach and offensive CO traditionally always has a top 5 line and running game. He is also great at turning average lineman into pro bowlers. His teams traditionally rank in the top 5 for fewest sacks allowed even when he starts undrafted offensive lineman who he has turned into pro bowlers.
The Bears will look to sign Bushrod LT from the Saints.
The Bears will not draft based on need. The will take a BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE approach to the draft and will take the best player on their board when they pick offensive lineman or not. They are looking for PLAY MAKERS not just offensive lineman.
I expect them to draft a Offensive tackle, a TE, LB and deep threat WR. I could also see them drafting a Running back and releasing Bush to free up cap space.

Left DT Henry Melton was slapped with the Franchise Tag.
Brian Urlacher's age (34) and his diminished output (0 sacks last season) could lead to his ouster, by way of his soon-to-be-Free Agency. IF: If Chicago does not re-sign Brian then he is free to walk.
Defensive End Shea McClellin (drafted Boise State) is a rumored Urlacher-Replacement given he does double duty at the line and backing the line.
New HC Trestman wants to see if McClellin can be a permanent LB fit, given he is 6' 3'', 260 pounds, with athletic speed and agility.
20th Overall, 1st Round Pick - They might try and land Ghana-born (BYU standout) Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah, given he is an athletic beast-with-speed at Defensive End.

The Bears are likely to part ways with TE Kellen Davis, OG Roberto Garza and possibly all-world performers MLB Brian Urlacher and KR/WR Devin Hester, in order to create more than $13M in cap space to sign any available talent left.
It is unlikely the Bears will find a new OLT in the free agent market that they need. Expect them to draft one early. They need Jay Cutler upright and believing in their new offensive coordinator's plans.
Sadly, WR Johnny Knox has retired following that horrific hit he took.

even as the Decatur Staleys moved to Chicago, they began playing in Wrigley container. George Halas needed a popularity that pondered the stadium and city they were now playing in, so he re-named the crew the Bears. i have heard this is because football gamers are larger than baseball gamers = Bears are larger than Cubs.
