I went to an orthopedic specialist, and was told that I have bursitis in the hip area?

What causes bursitis? I was told to do stretching exercises but I cannot even left my legs into the position to do them. Any suggestions as to alternative treatments?

great. another worthless diagnosis (a medical specialty) along with stupid advice which will aggravate the problem. marvelous. bursae can become inflamed when the muscles that overlie them are chronically over tense, often due to nerve interference. see an hio method chiropractor and correct the cause instead.

Disregard the silly answer from the silly chiropractor about silly "nerve interference" ( there is no such thing, it's the only answer he knows how to give ) See a good massage therapist that can loosen up the hip muscles so you can properly stretch them. You just might find out you don't even have bursitis. Been there and done exactly that.
