What are some tasty slow cooker recipes?

I've had very little energy since starting my full-time job and don't have enough $ to go out a lot.

Any good ones out there?

Some ingredients I have are: -chicken -beef -ground sausage - cream of chicken, celery, and mushroom -a random assortment of veggies -rice -noodles- sour cream

Here's one of my go to crock pot recipes:

Take your chicken pieces and salt and pepper them. Put them in the bottom of the crock pot. Top them with a can of cream of mushroom soup and half a can of milk. If you have any fresh or canned mushrooms they can go in as well. I've even added carrot slices before. Let cook at medium all day. When you come in at night cook up some noodles in a separate pot. Remove your chicken from the crock pot. It will be unbelieveably tender. Add your cooked noodles to the broth in the bottom of the crock pot. Add a little salt and pepper to taste, thicken with a little flour, then serve that as a side dish with the chicken. Add a salad and your have a wonderful easy cheap meal.

I hope this helped you. Have a great day!

Lisa A has a great suggestion, "chicken caccitore", i think the slow cooker recipe is better than the real thing. we usually use thighs, but any meaty chicken works. also, we just use tomato sauce, not spaghetti sauce, with canned tomatoes, fresh onions, mushrooms, and celery. put it all in there with some spices all day, its delicious. we serve it with egg noodles. mmmm awesome.

also, i love me some slow cooker pot roast, as well as any broth based soups.

i also learned a recipe of a kind-of mac and beef from someone, you take tomato sauce, macaroni, ground beef, corn, other veggies (fresh or canned) and put it all in, but i don't think you cook it all day because of the pasta.

really you can put any meat, veggie, brothy sauce combo in there and let it cook, then put over rice or noodles. i like to precook rice and noodles so you can just put it in the microwave with a little water sprinkled on to give back moisture.

Slow cookers and Crock Pots are the same thing...go here for over 1,000 Crock Pot recipes:

Another thing is to buy the precooked meats that come in sealed packages. Just pop into the microwave. You can make two meals out of most of them. They are located in the cold section, not the freezer. Ask a clerk to help you find them:

    Pot roast with gravy,

    Meat loaf,

    Pork roast,

    Chicken,

    Turkey,

the list goes on and on.

A side dish could be canned or frozen vegetables. Also potatoes. Or beans. Or microwave rice.

Frozen dinners are a cheaper way for a single person to eat. My husband and I have these often. They are delicious.

Canned fruit is usually our desserts.

    beef chili

    stuffed peppers

    beef straganoff

    sweet and sour chicken

    bbq chicken

If you don't have the time or energy go and buy some of those McCormick seasoning envelopes. They are super easy and very tasty. I really like the "pulled pork" I substitute chicken breasts for the pork and it made great sandwiches.

Here's an easy and cheap one

    Crockpot chicken and noodles

2 cans (10.75 oz.) low-fat cream of chicken soup

    4 cans (10.75 oz.) fat-free chicken broth

    4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

    1 pkg. (16 oz.) whole-grain noodles

Combine soup and broth in crock pot, stirring until well-blended. Add chicken.

Cover and cook on high heat 6 hours.

Uncover and remove chicken. Shred chicken and return to pot. Add noodles.

Cover and cook on high for an additional hour. Stir once after 30 minutes.

Maybe beef stragganoff, curried sausages, or various soups, such as pea soup with chicken or beef. As well maybe creamy ones such as carbonara or spaghetti for the tomato ones? With the option of rice, noodles an the hot pot for certain recipes?

Two chicken breast halves (I use boneless skinless, cut up into small bite sized pieces).

One jar of flavorful spaghetti sauce

    1 green pepper diced

about 12 ounces of fresh mushrooms, sliced

Mix it all up, cook on low all day.

    Serve over cooked pasta.

I call it chicken cacciatore, even though it's not really.
