Why is the us government trying to control us?
I have occasional anxiety and do not want to go through insurance and have the blemish on my record. I take meds occasionally, as many Americans do. However, to get the meds I either have to roll the dice with shady online companies, or go to a doctor who will gladly give me a prescription and put it on my insurance records. Aside from the costs and inconvenience of having to go to the doctor, it is on my record and what will that mean in 20 years? I am educated and do the research. I know the risks and take the proper precautions. I am not looking for heroin, just something to help me deal with major stresses like flying and important meetings at work. What is wrong with our country that we can not get an available medication without getting the government involved? Does the government assume that an adult citizen needs protection from themselves because they are not Intelligent enough to figure it out on there own? Is this not the same government that wants to give money for bridges to no where and buys misc. parts for the military at 10x (or more) than I can buy the same thing for at Home Depot. We are a supposed to be a free society but in reality, we are being treated like stupid children. If you have any solutions please speak up. I am confident there is no good ones other than to vote every current politician out of office and get the government back on the side of everyday people.
I have been denied health insurance because of prostitutes. The end result is I want the minimum on my record. So as a semi-intelligent human, I have done the research. I pay cash, try to bypass the insurance, and just want to get on with life. As I stated, I am not looking for anything crazy like heroin. I just need something to help me cope with life's occasional bumps. For the answers that indicated its better for society, aren't most of us inteligent enough to live our own lives? My example is personal to me. Another example is my wife who has the same problem with her diabetis. She can not get meds without a visit to the doctor. How many people do you know inject insulin for fun? If she wants to check her vision or her keytones as a inteligent person she can at home. At 42, if she is worried about her liver enzymes or anything else she can request the test. So the question remains, why can't we live life and purchase what we need without the government int

You're prescribing your own anxiety medication because you don't want your anxiety to be on record somewhere?
That sounds more like a symptom than a cure.

That statement is scare mongering drivel of the type put out by right wing extremists who's ideas and policies have led us to the mess we are in now. Why do you think we have poor education? Could it be because ot the neglect of the public school system in favour of the private sector as perfected by the conservative government of the last 11 years? What sort of "bidding" are these people on welfare supposed to do that the government is so keen on? They certainly aren't going to thank them by voting for them at the next election.

There is no conspiracy all doctors now are legally by law required to list all the medications they give to they're patients, to cut out the Dr Feelgoods giving out Oxycontin, Xanax, Rhohepnol and Valiums.
The reason why it's written on your medical record is so you can't go out doctor shopping. To get more pharmaceutical scripts from other doctors, to sell prescribed medication to pill poppers and junkies.
Now once you have got your script you can't get any more medication from any doctor until the course is finished. That's all this is, if you take your medication as prescribed by your doctor there is no problem, if your only using them to get high or sell them, you can't anymore.

So, you're afraid that the government is personally tracking all of your individual medicine purchases through your doctor, but aren't afraid that your credit card company and your Internet company have ALL of your medical drug purchases and all info regarding your other spending habits and Internet searches?

Glenn declared the Maroons coach Meninga's prediction that Brisbane will not make the top eight made him more determined to prove doubters wrong, while Corey Parker, a fellow Broncos leadership group member, said it was an opinion from "someone outside the group".
Meninga wrote in his column Brisbane's The Sunday Mail that the Broncos would miss the top eight for just the second time in their storied history, predicting a ninth-place finish.
When the Broncos failed to make the playoffs in 2010 the club underwent an enormous personnel change with coach Ivan Henjak sacked.
Glenn said Meninga was among an increasing number of commentators and fans predicting a bottom eight finish and their bold calls would actually help the team.
"It is good thing. When you are on top you have a lot of pressure on you," Glenn said.
"This is a big year for us, and for me personally being written off just makes me want to prove everyone wrong.
"It is definitely not something you want to hear, but in saying that you can't take it to heart."
Parker, who enters his 13th season with the club on Friday night against the Sea Eagles at Suncorp Stadium, said the club could not afford to focus on media talk.
"That is an opinion from someone outside the group and all we can control is what happens in here and that's getting on with business," Parker said.
"Three and a half months ago we started this journey.
"You can only be judged on the training paddock and we're working hard at those things but the real test comes Friday night and we're looking forward to it.
"Round 1, a full house, Brisbane and Manly, it is going to be exciting."
Glenn is a certain starter for Friday night after struggling with an corked upper thigh during training in the past week.
One of the men called out by Meninga was halfback Peter Wallace.
"We can't worry about what people think," Wallace said.
"I don't think we will ever fly under the radar. People write teams off all the time."
Sonny Bill Williams is in on the bench for the Roosters, but Canberra duo Josh Dugan and Jarrod Croker were the big names missing when the remaining teams for the opening round were unveiled yesterday.
Williams was named on an impressive extended Sydney Roosters bench for tomorrow night's season-opener against South Sydney.
The dual international still has to prove his fitness with concerns over his surgically-repaired pectoral muscle, but Roosters official hope that he will be right.
The Rabbitohs have skipper Michael Crocker starting from the bench.

That is the nature and purpose of government. Over a long period of time, it is difficult to keep any government's power "in check".
