You have hit upon a key concept that many Christians don't get. "Strive". What did Jesus say about what type of men and women we should be? He said to be as He is. Obviously we can't do that, but we can strive to do so. That is the key word, "strive". We are not perfect, we can't be perfect, and God does not expect us to be perfect. He only expects us to strive to do so.
OH, and the answer to your question is YES, to the best of our abilities.

This is what this life is about to develop that, teach us that.
We don't know these things in the old nature and the new nature
is...new. So it has to grow in grace, in the power that God gives.
Through everything that comes to us in our path, we learn from it,
I seem to mostly learn...'wrong again'...but sometimes I 'win'
by getting it right and that's always uplifting.
God would have us extended, able to handle things.
He doesn't want us having that very 'short fuse', yet
whenever I make progress, sure enough MORE is added
and the fuse will get shorter.
But over time yes, it gradually changes.

Certainly. Love takes many forms. For those of us in Christ....love shines as support and guidance. For the ignorantly confused atheists.....love takes shape in the form of education which they desperately need. As brothers...we forgive to be forgiven. For the atheists...the best forgiveness is to not forgive their rejection of truth. Doing these things will bring hope, grace, and mercy. John 10:10 God Bless

Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man.― Friedrich Nietzsche

You would be more on track with the history of Christianity if you engaged in a little witch burning, war, torture, killing, looting and stealing.
It always amazes me how Christians think they are so good and righteous. Read a little Christian history and you'll find that the history of the Christians mirrors pretty closely that of the Nazis.
In fact, in my study of history, the most gruesome and horrific stories of torture are those involving the Catholic church. And that reminds me, you might also want to engage in homosexual sex with young boys.

The life of EVERYONE should exemplify that, unfortunately the religious fundamentalists are usually the FARTHEST from that.

It should, but we also have that sinful nature. That is why we need Jesus... .
