I really like the beach in Valencia: massive at about 3 miles long and quarter of a mile wide. It has the Mediterranean at one end, and a lovely, underrated city at the other, and is blessed with about 300 sunny days a year. The sand is soft and fine too, and when you have finished at the beach, you have the delights of a great city to explore. Basically a win-win situation.

I like long sandy beaches, so Bordeaux coast line and Northern Denmark (Skagen). Spectacular. I like the black beach on Chios, Greece too, it is hard to walk there because of the hard stones, but it is so beautiful. My opinion only.
