How to maintain pit puppy fat?
Not fat as in overweight but kinda chubby looking.
When I brought him home he was chubby, and I don't know if it is the type of food I feed him (pedigree). But know he looks skinny. Both parents were best in show at the ABKC super bully show in Atlanta. What do you guys recommend I feed him?
Vet recommended puppy chow but I don't know
He is now about 4 months old

its puppy fat. Even a little extra weight on a dog will cause problems. Feed your dog grain-free dog food, since many bull breed dogs tend to have food allergies, especially towards corn.
Having said that, please stop calling your dog a pit. its not a pit. the only pit bull is the American Pit Bull Terrier. And if your dog's parents were best in show at the ABKC (American Bully Kennel Club, not a legitimate KC, purely made so Bully breeders have a show to go to) you don't have a pit bull.
You have a mutt. The American Bully is not a recognized breed in ANY legitimate KC. It is ruining the American Pit Bull Terrier.

No show dog would be eating Pedigree. He does need puppy chow, and you should get at least a mid-level brand at petsmart or petco. Make sure you're feeding him enough, and consider mixing in some canned food with the dry or moistened.
If you have a Costco card, they have Kirkland brand Nature's Choice about $30 for a big bag. It's $60 dog food with no grain for half price under the Costco brand. It's for all stages of the canine life cycle, so would be ok as a puppy chow.
Also make sure he is dewormed and free of fleas, because parasites can steal the nutrition from the dog. And if you live in the south, heartworm prevention is also important in humid areas.

Puppies go through chubby phases and thin and awkward stages. It's absolutely normal, and nothing you could do will make him look "chubby" constantly while he's growing up. Feed him an appropriate good quality food (pedigree is not, neither is purina puppy chow) and he'll eventually mature into a normal adult frame. Look for a puppy food with no wheat, corn, soy, or non-specific byproducts (i.e. chicken liver is good, chicken byproducts is not). The first ingredient should be a named meat. Switch gradually to avoid stomach upset.

I raised a male American Stafforshire Bull Terrier (amstaff) the sister bred to the pit at 70lbs...with a female chihuahua of 6lbs. They were great together...never kept them separate. However...I had to rehome the staffie because 2 pits dug in my back yard and the 3 of them fought for about 15min. After this event...my amstaff wanted to fight everything. Ive also had pitbulls in the past...my experience with these almost identical breeds...is that they are best in single dog homes. If you have another dog...make sure it is opposite sex...and ideally, brought up from pups together. Even so, this will not ensure that you wont have problems. Best thing to do is start obedience training at about 6mo of age or sooner. You will probably need to get a pinch collar after about 6months of age. They are wonderful dogs...but most require more work and vigilance then do other breeds.

Lean puppies are healthy puppies. As both his parents were Best in Show winners, he must have cost you a pretty penny, so I'm surprised you're feeding him supermarket food. I would switch to Orijen or Wellness, but do it gradually (mixing more of the new food with less of his old food every day) unless you want digestive issues.
