Preparing for Kindergarten?

Hi, so I went to the school that my kids will be going to in the Fall and I didn't realize what all they need to know before they go. My kids are smart but are behind with the basic knowledge of things. Reading and writing. They can write letters but not correctly. I was thinking of trying the ABCmouse thing, it's interactive computer games that help steer them to learning. I have been working with them but I have no clue on how to keep their focus. Anyone try this and have seen good results?

    I recommend using homeschool courses.

Handwriting Without Tears is excellent for writing.

For math I recommend CLE math. This is the homeschool curriculum I use to teach my son at home. The math is very inexpensive and thorough. http://www.clp.org/store/by_subject/4

CLE also has some Kindergarten materials you may be interested in.

For reading readiness I like Pathway Readers. They are very inexpensive. http://www.pathwayreaders.com/

I don't know if you have ever considered homeschooling your kids, but it would take less than an hour a day to homeschool a kindergartener. 1st grade would take about an hour a day.
