Renting an amp head? How does it work?
Problem. I've got a gig Wednesday and my Gallien-Kreuger head has decided to fail on me.
I've got a nice Trace-Elliot head that I use as a backup, but it's just not working for my current band's material. It creates mud. I don't want to use it.
I know there are a number of seasoned musos on here. How does the process of renting a head work? How do I do that? What sort of price can I expect to pay? I really need a GK head. A 400 or 800 would be fine.

First you'd need to find a shop that rents equipment, typically you put down a deposit for the full cost of the equipment you wish to rent, once returned in good working condition your deposit is returned less the cost of the rental, the rental price varies from shop to shop
