diabetic hungry every 3 hours?
I am insulin dependent diabetic. My insulin has been increased and I now have great readings. However, I find I am hungry every 2-3 hours and have a hard time sleeping because I am hungry. I do not give into the urge to eat. If I did I would be 2 ton Annie. I noticed I am eating less and leave the table and I am not hungry but come 2-3 hours later I feel hungry and really want to eat again. Don't know what is going on.

If you get hungry between meals, snack on a handful of almonds or a hard boiled egg or half an avocado, or some cheese, jerky or sliced chicken, smoked salmon, a spoonful of peanut or almond butter. Olives. Cottage cheese (low fat). Make sure the starchy carbs you eat with your meals are the less processed kind so they will take longer to digest (thus you won't get hungry as fast). Make sure you are drinking enough water too. I find when I'm busy and distracted, I don't feel hungry much but when I'm not doing enough to keep me busy, I start feeling hungry almost as though it's a boredom reaction.
