Perhaps this is a backwards answer, but I definitely include hot hearty soups in the Winter menus, something I would never do on a hot summer's day. The 'cool and refreshing' food and drink so suitable for the summer does not go well for Winter menus. So, definitely no cold meals like cold cuts, or cold chicken salad. I love gazpacho but would never have it during winter. That has to be drunk very cold, and there's a chance your sinuses will start to ache if you include that one mid-December.

I usually don't eat cucumber until spring/summer.
I find it so refreshing and it cools me down if the temperature is around 90 or so.
Same with zucchini, celery, tomato, strawberries, oranges, grapes (any fruit really) all those refreshing fruits and vegetables.

Most summertime fruits are expensive in the winter so I pass them by in favor of apples and bananas which are always reasonable.
Watermelon is the only one I can think of which I only eat in the summer.

I usually don't eat whole tomatoes, corn on the cob or melons in the winter. But, I make up for it when warmer weather gets here!!

It used to be that you wouldn't catch me eating a winter tomato no matter where it came from but the store where I shop has greenhouses for their whole chain where they grow tomatoes and they are really good. They also grow poinsettias for the holidays and because they do it they can sell them cheaper and they are way nicer than other stores carry.

Of course.. you have things such as Ice Cream, Waterice, Iced Coffee, things that give you a refreshing chill in overall. Winter things are more hot and smooth to enjoy.
