Well, here is a question for you - how much do you believe of what you read and hear? Do you think the "billionaires" are pushing this information out to you and me out of concern for our well-being? or because maybe they stand to make a profit on a small correction by creating a buying oppt? - I am not saying that is the case - - only that I don't know.

Yes, a total collapse into near anarchy is totally plausible to me - and always has been. I thought the same things many many many years ago - and if I had no investments over that period I would have far less in funds. Nobody gets rich being a pessimist - unless writing books abt the coming crash and how you should buy gold and dried foods to keep in your basement - for me, if it comes to that point, I assume there will be armed marauding gangs who will gladly shoot me for my horde... I doubt we will see the 90% crash. and if we do, likely we are all pretty well screwed.

I keep a well balanced portfolio - I have no debt and my living expenses would shock you as to how low they are - I live overseas and to a fairly high standard for very little. Yes, it is all upsetting worries to have and my goal is to have it be less and less a matter of worry/interest for me - I am very diversified, live with a farming family - have few needs or wants -

I think there are at least an equal number of "news people" who are calling for a continued bull market as well... there are always gloom guys as I would be too - but I stay mostly invested with $$ in the bank and other reserves, just in case. And then I go out and get a massage and a good meal and try and have a pleasant day, not worrying.

My home will ride out everything except collapse of the coal mine that

is directly under it. There are freshwater springs and tidal seafood not

more than 40 minute walk distant. Deer and other small game stroll

past weekly. My paid employment includes taking care of problems

that are evacuated out of urban metro-complex's north and south.

There's industrial size chipper to speed disposal if funeral services

can't handle an expanding mortality count. Arrivals get hosed and

issued paper coveralls. Firearms are limited sworn peace officers.

Our present Federal Government has provided emergency stocks.

Feel free to decline evacuation transit if you have constitution issues.

That's the take on talk radio too and I'd hate for those particular boobs to be right. It does frighten me a little and I don't know why.

    Dave,

I wouldn't be in the market when the Country has so much debt.
