living in Spain, now government want to know what assets/money we have in the UK can they do this?

Update:

anyone can ask any questions but do we have to fill in these forms and tell them what we have money wise back in the UK

    Check and see what the consequences of not filling the form in are. For example, in the US, all residents have a similar obligation and if they do not, they are hit with very large fines.

    The Spanish government can ask anybody whatever questions they want, why would they not be able to do that?

    I guess so, if you are not a full citizen of the country you live in then they can ask you
