  • vegetarians, why broadcast the fact?

why is it vegetarians have to make a big deal about being one, just read the food and drink category, nearly every other question is about it, you,re not going to save the world all by yourselves or all of the creatures who live on the planet they have been here a lot longer than we have and they aren,t extinct and never will be no matter how many people eat them!! everyone has the choice of what they eat, I don,t eat red meat because I don,t like it but I don,t broadcast the fact just like the meat eaters of this world don,t put questions on this site, so come on if you,re a vegetarian, vegan, carnivore or whatever please keep it to yourself, I,m sure other people will agree

  • 14 yr olds having gastric band?

Children of 14 yrs having this surgery is disgraceful, if they were brought up to eat proper foods instead of takeaways and snacks whenever they want them there wouldn`t be any need for waste of tax payers money. I know 1 of the mothers already had this surgery and admitted to letting her child eat what she wanted. i`m sure parents should know by now what is good for there kids and what`s not, a treat every now and again won`t do any harm but to let them get obese so they can opt for an easy way out by having surgery isn`t good. if they have the surgery they should pay for it themselves, the NHS is on it`s **** anyway without having people eating to burst then having an easy way out. Some people have thyroid problems, I do but I take medication and eat healthy. i`d like to know what everyone else`s views are on this, should gastric bands be paid for by the family or should we the tax payer have to pay for people who can`t be bothered to look after themselves?

  • being ripped off at the supermarket?

I went to Sainsbury`s this morning and there were loads of offers like buy 2 for £5 or £3, i was just going to get 2 lots of olives for £5 when I realised they were only £2.35 for 1, this is not a question as such but just a warning to other shoppers to look at the prices before you think you`re getting a bargain, has anyone else had the same problem at other supermarkets?

  • Do you think health and safety has gone too far?

A man walking home was hit by a car and ended up in a ditch face down in 18" of water, emergency services arrived, ambulance and 2 fire engines, but then thought the slope too risky so on health and safety grounds he was left for 3 hrs while a special unit came with gear to get to him, he was in a 10ft ditch not a big crater, he had minor injuries but died later. When the parents arrived the 999 crew were drinking tea at the top of the ditch. Even when police came later they said it would be instinct just to get to him any passer by would have helped i know I would, do you think this health and safety is going too far.

  • 10 year old having surgery to lose weight?

Do you think it`s too young to have this done, the parents say he didn`t eat much but as they were 26 and 24 stone before having surgery themselves how do they know what is a small amount or not, they must have eaten a vast amount to get to that size, they had no medical problem as an excuse as they say for the 10 yr old, I have an under active thyroid and take medication, i am a bit overweight and will be on a diet for the rest of my life, I think people will eat huge amounts to get fat then expect an operation on the NHS
