Android vs iOS (read below)?

First off this is strictly for a smartphone. So here are my concerns for android. I have been mostly using apple wireless devices so far, i have an ipad and ipod touch. Now once i get my smartphone ill obviously wont use my ipod anymore but i will continue using the ipad. So i was wondering if i switch to android how the ecosystem between my devices would work. Also, i believe it is, but is Android compatible with itunes.

I know Android has plenty of different phones, so how do the app compatibility work. Do they have specific versions of apps for each type of phone? For example if i got Angry Birds on the Galaxy S3 would it be compatible to fit its screen size, and make the most use of the phones resolution? On apple this update has to happen about once a year so it wouldnt seem like a problem but how frequent do they update the apps to account for all the phones on android? Also whats the app market on android like?

And lastly what software do you think i should get? Im basically gonna use my phone for internet browsing, email, text, youtube, music, and playing games.

I really think that for you, an iDevice person, should just go with an iPhone. Its very different between IOS and android. But wait! App compatability is not so good for android but not in the way you think with the angry birds example. There are over 700,000 android devices and only 16 apple devices. now if you're making an app, it would be way easier to make it for only 16 devices than 700,000 devices. the thing with android is no developer is going to test an app on that many devices. but if you were to get a phone like a Galaxy s3, thats different. Because that phone is VERY VERY popular and basically every app is going to work with that phone. if your going to get an android phone, get a popular one that you see commercials about because those are the ones that are compatible with pretty much anything

I had a long answer that got erased.the reason it was long is becoz i own an s3.and before that iphone 4,4s and also know about 5. Why it got erased is my internet got overwhelmed by its awesoneness.Final conclusion -go for an s3 or a new s4 coming soon. It gives you freedom that an iphone cannot and couldnt.
