I just bought a Tracfone. What's the cheapest option if I just want the phone for emergencies?
When I bought the phone it said triple minutes. Calling Tracfone isn't any good since you only get a computer, not a person. I only want the phone for an emergency for example my car breaking down. I expect to make 1-2 calls a year.. Maybe 5 calls at the most.
I already bought the phone. It comes with only 10 free minutes which expire in about a month. So I need to but some minutes by say May 10, my question is how many? and under what plan. Go to TracFon and you'll see what I mean.

Go to tracfone.com and put the $10, 30 unit/30 day card in your shopping cart. Click "continue to checkout." You will then get the option to "supersize" your order with an extra 365 days of service for $50. $60 (plus tax) for 395 days of service.
Or get a 60 unit/90 day card for $20, which for an extra $10 gets you 60 more days. Then supersize as above, plus you might find a good promo code to use to get a few extra minutes. (There are no promo codes for the 30/30 card.) $70 for 455 days of service.

With Tracfone when you add minutes, you usually get to choose how many minutes AND how long they last. For your needs the most important thing is how long they last (you want ones that last a long time), and it's less important how many you get.
To add minutes, either buy a Tracfone card at the store, or you should be able to set up and access your Tracfone account online and buy from there using your credit card.
P.S. Your phone probably came with some free minutes, so there's no need to add more until just before they expire.
