New in Town. Work in Independence, MO, near Kansas City, MO. Looking for a nice and peaceful neighborhood.?

I am currently living in Los Angeles, CA. YES, I know it won't be the same moving to Kansas City, but my work requires it. I will be working in Independence with my wife, no kids.

I have no idea about the area other than looking on the google street maps.

Which area would be nice and peaceful? of course, near grocery stores and such.

we are working class so can't afford all the way up, but trying to avoid the crowd and getto too.

Thanks a Million

Update:

I like driving but no more than 5-10 miles one way.

It's refreshing to see somebody actually identify themselves as working-class when asking where to live. Finding affordable neighborhoods that aren't affected by the ghetto/ghetto types can be difficult, but luckily Independence, MO, is one remaining area that has an All-American vibe. It's nice with average, decent, hard-working people. Independence is very affordable, in terms of newer, subruban style housing, semi-rural housing, and historic housing - there's plenty of variety in Independence, which is where I would recommend looking for housing giving what you've said. Many people will write off or tell you to write-off Independence because it's blue-collar or working-class or even mention meth or a white-trash/ghetto element, which exists but not to the extent that it is defining of Independence like outsiders who actually no nothing about Independence try to espouse. The area to avoid is extremely western Independence, along the KCMO line. The historic areas around the Square and Englewood are very nice areas. Most all of the suburban and newer areas are fine. The most suburban area nearest all the restaurants, retail and large mall, Independence Center, will be the newest part, but is still very affordable considering what you get. All of the KC area is cheap by LA standards, but Independence is cheap by KC standards. I think you'll like the lifestyle upgrade you'll get here! All I know is to say what I've said and for you to get your feet on the ground out there.

ForRent.com and Apartments.com as well as Realtor.com and the local ReeceandNichols.com are all great sites to find housing.

    Good luck!

kansas city does not host international sequence and neither do the different communities in the league aside from the two communities that make the international sequence. you in all probability blended up issues because of the fact Kansas city held the All famous guy or woman pastime this twelve months that's in a distinctive city each twelve months. Kansas city is only no longer retaining it next twelve months because of the fact the manhattan Mets would be internet hosting the ASG. it is likewise especially unlikely they are going to be retaining it in the close to destiny because of the fact they prefer to be distinctive with the places that are hosted as in giving everybody a hazard.
