Multiplying negatives?

1. How do you find the product of two numbers when

a. Both are positive?

b. One is positive and one is negative?

c. Both are negative?

d. One is 0?

2.How do you find the quotient of two numbers when

a. Both are positive and the other is negative?

b.one is positive and the other is negative?

c. Both are negative?

d. The numerator is 0?

    1. a. If both are positive, your answer will be positive, so you multiply like normal.

    b. Your answer will be negative. You multiply like normal and add a negative sign to the front.

    c. When both are negative, your answer will be positive. Multiply like normal as if there weren't any negative signs and make the answer positive.

    d. If one is zero, your answer will always be zero.

    2. a. You divide as if there weren't any negatives to begin with and add a negative to the quotient.

    b. Same answer as above.

    c. If both are negative, you divide like usual. Your resulting answer will always be positive.

    d. Your answer will always be zero.

    These answers apply to everything when multiplying or dividing positives or negative. I hope I cleared up any questions you had. ;)
