How do I become a Texas resident?
I just moved here to live with my sister here in Killeen, Texas ever since last month February 16th. I'm enrolling in Central Texas College, and I'm trying to get a driver's license. I want to be able to be a resident here in Texas, and I am going to live here more than a year, and I want a cheaper tuition fee at Central Texas College. For that to happen, I need to be able to be a resident.
So how do I become a Texas resident?
Is it true you can just go get your Texas ID and you're good?
What's a Texas license? I heard it from somewhere.
Please, I need help! Tell me everything!
Okay, I forgot to mention, I came from the Republic of Palau and we're under the Compact of Free Association, which can entitle us to get jobs, live in the States, get an education, etc.

In order to get a driver's license/ID card, you need to prove residency in Texas by showing a utility bill, bank statement or any legal document showing your address. I know the community colleges in Texas require to be in state for at least a year since I attend one when I lived there unless that has changed. I don't know about Central Texas College and if it falls under that rule.

You are already a Texas resident. You became one on February 16, when you moved into your current place. In order to pay in-state tuition, you will have to be a Texas resident for at least 1 year. Until then you'd have to pay the out-of-state tuition. Or you just wait another year.

Well, you have to obtain a driving permit, then go to driving school and pass the driver's test and obtain a license. About the cheaper college tuition fee, sorry, you must pay the same amount like everybody else.
