question about MJ for cancer patients?

ok, so before I ask my question, I just want ANYONE who dismisses the idea of Marijuana all together... DONT even bother to answer my question.

That being said, Does Marijuana really help in cancer patients going through chemo?

My mother is suffering from lymphoma, and is in a lot of pain du to chemo. She has been a very straight way woman, who disagrees with illegal drugs, however during her pain she has said she is willing to try it after reading results from others. I know there is a such thing as medical marijuana, but I live in Texas and this is a hard thing to get ahold of due to a long process.

I can get her some, Marijuana that is not medical, but I just want to hear from other people who have had cancer or if you know someone who had cancer or has it that is smoking/ consuming marijuana for relief from Chemo side effects. Please give me your advise and input on this situation. I would be very happy to hear from others experiences. Thanks so much and have a WONDERFUL day!

Does it help? That seems to be a highly individual response. It does some, it doesn't others. What I have distinctly noticed though, is that if a person was a toker before they were diagnosed, it seems to help more, or rather, they don't mind being stoned. If a person didn't smoke before diagnosis, more often than not, they dislike being stoned more than they receive benefit from smoking.

Let her try a one-hitter if she is willing: if she gets hit all of a sudden with a creeper and freaks out you'll have simply put her through a bad experience, y'know?

The "medical stuff" is no different than the street stuff.

People apply through the state to legally sell the home grown to medical dispensaries.

Edit: ginger helps greatly with upset chemo stomach. They have candied ginger at every health food store and many grocers. I would suggest that too.

I am a child of the 70s from California and have smoked weed all my life. Having cancer does not change the fact that the effects are very individual. My father had MS and for years I tried to get him to try it for help with pain and sleep. He was against illegal drugs too and could not believe I was suggesting such a thing, but after it became legal he tried it and it helped.

I don’t smoke it as often as I once did, but I can tell you back in the 70s and 80s we had a wide choice and they were all different. I have also tired the medical kind and I can tell you it is different from the kind you get on the street – I find it better. The weed stores here help you decide among the variety which is best for your situation including the delivery method. If you do not have the medical type available trying what type you can get will not hurt her and if she doesn’t like it she can just not use it.

sure, my pal had colon maximum cancers and grow to be prescribed pot by utilising the Dr. (we live in B.C.) He had no concern together with his chemo, or his urge for nutrition, and lost little or no weight. He did great for 2 years, yet unfortuntely he purely found out the main cancers has unfold to his abdomen & liver.
