Thoughts about poem dead husband?

It's not my husband, a co worker of mine lost her husband and she really loves poetry so I thought it might be nice to give her a poem of mine but I want to know what you guys think before I decide whether or not to give it to her.

I know this is a little conceited, but please give it a star if you like it, in this section I'd be lucky to get 2 comments and I really want to know what you think about this.

The Autumn Leaf

Day by day the autumn leaves turn

The driest brown before the fall

And one by one the autumn leaves learn

That none escape the winter's call

For many fall alone and bare

For fate has made the cruelest crime

Forced to wait until they tear

Forced to wait the sands of time

But leaves are not for solemn brown

But golden yellow and ruby red

And heavy is this nature's crown

But carried high upon one's head

And to the winds the leaves will blow

Scattering forth the ash of life

And flowers, trees, and plants will know

Two leaves lay hands as man and wife

I like your poem, a lot actually, I just think maybe it is a little dark for the occasion. When death comes, one must celebrate the life lost.
