Ways to improve acting?

I take acting classes for a certain program, it's just local (It's a start, though.) and we're having a play in May. We're doing something based off of the Wizard of Oz, and then something with mean girls pulling a prank. We're not too sure and have not decided on what we're going to do, but the play is fairly soon.

I need tips on how I should relax before performing in front of random people (Anybody in my city is able to attend.), and just tips so I can avoid any errors. (Which, errors do happen. But I would like to avoid them if possible.)

Thank you.

First of all. Make sure you're comfortable with the fact of getting up in front of a live audience. Make sure you have a clear strong voice.

Then. To practice, you should get family/friends to sit and hear you practice your preformance.

To make it look the most realistic use emotions from other past experiences that correspond to the scene to help you create a really good scene.

And with that you'll be set. Good luck!
