Why are TV adverts allowed to be sexist against men?
It's very rare these days for a TV advert to be sexist against women but when they are, they are almost always pulled off air swiftly.
A few years ago there was an advert for an oven cleaner which said "so easy, even a man could do it" which was ruled to be absolutely fine to be aired. Yet I doubt had the tables been turned it would've been ruled as such.
Now there is a new advert for some olive spread which shows a group of old women training a dog to steal a young man's swimming trunks and then they take pictures of him. Imagine that the other way round where a young woman has her bikini stripped from her and then old men take pictures of her. It's mad!
@Haley - I'm not complaining about women! I'm complaining about the adverts being sexist against men - regardless of who runs the advertising industry.
Oh my word. For the last time I'm not blaming women!!!! I'm merely asking why the advertising world can get away with being sexist against men but the same isn't true the other way round. Diet Coke ad is another good example. I doubt very much a bunch of blokes drenching a girl so she has to take her top off would be allowed either.

People are so used to sexism against men that most of them don't even notice it and no one listens to men who do. Feminists think women can do no wrong and demonise men at every opportunity so adverts showing sexism against men are shown because its only considered sexist when its against women . The problem is that feminist misandry is supported by men who are too stupid to think for themselves. Sexism against men is wrong but feminists have done there best to make it o.k because they are hypocrites and feminism is a hate movement.

Ok so I'm really late to this question, but I'd just like to say as a empathectic feminist, it makes me squirm when I see men objectified in such a blase way. Because for one thing hypocrisy hurts and undermines genuinely good work and the original feminist ideal of true equality alike. And secondly, but not least, frankly I don't like to see anybody female or male being treated as a sex object just to sell a product, it's a morally low sales tactic and should be banned.

Happens all the time. Women only think something is sexist if it doesn't work to their advantage, when today's reality is they are in fact far more sexist than men. Double-standards, and totally indefensible.
And there are plenty of women in advertising.

Liberals try to make up for past wrongs....... by resorting to the same wrongs, in reverse.

You are right. That is very inappropriate. I am a female but those commercial would disturbed me to. I don't agree with either.

Hahahaha, you do realise that men make up most of the advertising/corporate industry? Men are the ones mostly in charge of designing ads. Complain to men, not about women.

If you have a problem with those ads, call in.
