    Ok cidyah---

when most Windows versions start up there will be applications, processes and then the programs you've selected running. You can find out about these via Task Manager and there may be more than one way to get to it. I usually go to one of the programs and do a ctrl+alt+delete and you'll get a menu of items...task manager is the last one. Select it and you'll get another screen so you can

see the programs running but you can click on the bottom tabs to see all the processes, etc that are running concurrently...But, having said that....deleting any of those may cause problems with running some of the items you want to run.

As far as ME---there should be a Read Me associated with it or with Windows 8 that will explain its function.
