Should I rent or buy a violin?
I've been thinking about learning the violin, just for myself since it's my dream instrument. I would take lessons from a friend. I don't have tons of money to spend. Should I rent a nicer instrument, rent-to-own, or buy an instrument worth around $200? I'm open to any suggestions.
P.S. I don't know if you need to know this, but I already have experience in music - I play the piano and sing classically. I would be looking to play the violin both classically and as a fiddle.
I won't grow anymore, and I'd need a 4/4.
What would be a reasonable price for renting or renting to own a decent violin. (Please keep in mind that I do not have a lot of money at my disposal)

Rent, a $200 violin is a poor quality one.

I would not begin out with a pleasant one, i might start out with a affordable one. After a while you can make a decision whether or not to preserve pursuing it or not. Also, i do not consider youtube is going to train you something. Violin just isn't that sort of instrument, for many humans it takes a fairly long time earlier than which you can make a high-quality sound come out of it, and you really need interaction with a trainer, at the least to start with

Rent if you think your gonna grow. If you think you aren't gonna go them I'd buy one.
