You are losing your connection when it does that, and it can drive you crazy. There are a lot of things that could possibly be wrong and you didn't supply much information, but you could go with a usb adapter that is b/g/n compatible to 150 mbs. This would solve any possible band mixups between you and your router. Usually what I find here is that the router is cheap and overheating, when it does this is loses connectivity. Getting a better router is a good investment, as ALL cheap routers do not have heatsinks and give crappy performance on the way to burning out quickly. If you go to newegg.com and get a router that has a 600 (300+300) Mbs download rating and gigabit ports (10/100/1000) then you will have a heatsink equipped router that will last for years.

You can try breaking the connection completely from your computer and trying to reconnect. If that doesn't work or it turns yellow again you can download inSSider and see which channels are least congested and type in 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 whichever one will access your router settings and my setting is under wireless setup and scroll down to channels and switch to one that isn't congested. You can also go to your routers main page and find something called a firmware upgrade. Download from the main site where your router is from and go back into the 192.168. whichever and find where you can upload the firmware file and install it. I would highly suggest you plug your computer directly into a Ethernet cable in order to upgrade the firmware. If that doesnt work tell me I will try to think of something else.
