What is the American dream?

Life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness. Pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps, and making something out of nothing. Inventing a crazy contraption that rolls down a hill, and getting injured in it, provided it does not infringe on anyone else's rights. Wrapping forcemeats in bacon. Becoming a celebrity. Buying something you will never possibly need. Being loud and proud. Or, a combination of more than one, i.e. inventing a crazy contraption that launches forcemeats wrapped in bacon.

It's basically the same dream that all humans have, but with a joyous abandonment of intellectualism and an embrace of patriotism.

The American dream, is people that migrated to America from a poor place/lifestyle and they believe/have a dream by moving to America, they may get adobted and get an education or job and earn money to look after their family, they believe that by moving their they will get a job, money and get far in life and live a high life

Like all dreams, the meaning is different for everyone, and yet the same. Comes down to being able to do 'your own thing' so to speak.

To put it short, it is whatever you want it to be. It's the country giving you the opportunity tocchoose how you want to live your life, but it isnot a gaurantee. It is up to the person to achieve it for themself.
