Do you think Kim Jong Un will be the man who unifies North & South Korea?

How would he go down in history if he unified with the south and began relations with the west?

Update:

Lack of optimism and real knowledge among the answers so far.

Update 2:

May I mention the power of the internet, how it has connected us, it is a sign of the changing times. The old fearful notions and traditions are on the way out. I don't see why the children of today in the world, who will be the leaders of the next few decades and beyond, simply not understand anymore why we are fighting each other and without a doubt know to themselves that there is complete strength in unity for everyone. Places of interest in the world that need unity brought about now, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and Palestine.

    Not a prayer.

    real knowledge?

Your world sees threatening nuclear war as a unifying factor?

Lack of knowledge; or your lack of grasp on reality of the situation?

"Do you think Kim Jong Un will be the man who unifies North & South Korea?"

The chances of this happening are astronomical. There is just no way he can go up against the combined forces of the U.S., South Korea, Japan, and maybe even China and Russia.

"How would he go down in history if he unified with the south and began relations with the west?"

It depends on whether or not we are talking about a complete change in character. Remember, this guy has concentration camps where millions of people suffer and die in gas chambers and hard manual labor. I think in the future many people will ask "how could we have ignored this disgusting defiance of human rights?"

I certainly hope not. If he does, it will be the same way that Hitler 'unified' most of Europe, with blood, death and human atrocities.

You really need to get out more. I lived in South Korea for 2 years. Wishful thinking is just that, wishful thinking. Reality may suck, but its steal reality. If Kim Jong Un is such a great person, why is the country that he runs still languishing. Why does he maintain the 4th largest military in the world when his country is so small and so impoverished?

Lack of realism and fact among the question so far.

Man? He's a boy,I think.A real man would not embrace the celebrity athlete of a nation one week, then threaten to attack it the next.Clearly,he is in over his head.Meanwhile, his people are starving and dying. He might go down in history as the incompetent head of state who led his country to destruction.China wants stability. If North Korea threatens world peace,China would turn the other way while we destroyed them. The Cold War is over. Neither China nor the US wants a renewewal of the Korean War.We'd rather just eliminate Un and his regime.

I doubt he would do so, but if he did unify both countries, he would go down in history since this would be the first time in 60 years that the two Koreas got along.

North Korea AND Red China together tried to "unify" the two Koreas in the 50's. They were eventually handed their butts on a tray. History does repeat itself.
