    s = s(0) + v(0)t + 1/2 at^2

    s(0) = 0

    v(0) = 8 m/s

    s = 8*40 + 1/2 at^2

    640 = 320 + 1/2 * a * 1600

    Subtract 320 from both sides and combine terms:

    320 = 800a

    a = 0.4 m/s^2
