Why dont the police enforce all laws?

Just sticking to traffic issues, illegal tint, running red lights, and speeding to name a few. It seems like it is too much of a hassle for the police to enforce these laws. Why are some laws enforced and others are not?

Police mostly just follow the traffic problems know because they want the streets safe. These days no one really cares about about illegal tinting because a officer can let you go if he wants but he can arrest you for the tinting. Also a officer usually doesn't pull you over for going 5 miles over the speed limit but if you are going 10 or more miles over the speed limit he has to pull you over.

Hmmm....This rule is definite hard to implement...On the whole the police don't care even though deaths accor every yr. The police do not care given that it might be very hard to ticket these people who experience without helmets and kids who experience with out helmets dont have and id. Perhaps you shouldnt go to the police. Off small like going round your neighborhood and giving people small classes on why its not save to trip without a helmet. I know Im most likely no longer serving to as a lot as you want but this is all i will give you. My point is discontinue going to the police, begin off small and work your way up. Possibly you would get a petition and later give to the copd. This might make the neighborhood around you comply with these legal guidelines. Hope I helped some how. Just right luck!

which laws do you mean?the police can't be everywhere at once. they enforce the laws when they happen to catch people breaking them. if they don't see someone do something, there is nothing to enforce.it isn't a hassle at all to ticket people for speeding and running red lights.ticket revenue

    is how cities make money.

They are minor income tickets, compared to the big income of drugs. Also, busting drug dealers is the current trend, earns the most respect, and gets the most press.

When you get to court, the judge can toss a dozen or more speeding tickets, and others, a day, just because he got laid the night before, but judges who handle drug cases tend to have their bread & butter on this, so they really tend to be jerks. Add in that most cops lie about what they find and make all drug users into dealers, and even if one gets busted down some, the Feds still pay for each conviction.

It's all a game. Most don't want to do the dirty work but they all want to be drug busters. This is the cult that started with "Just Say No" to drugs.

Also, it has a racial component involved. Almost every black can be busted for drugs/dealing, so... Never mind that if you tested everyone in wrecks or for speeding for drugs, you could bust as many, if not more, whites. Stereotypes.

I can drive down the street, in a small cesspool of a town, and get a dozen tickets for speeding, improperly displayed tags, sticker dates, inspection expiration, and improper equipment violations, without adding in moving violations such as no seat belt, headlights not on, and so on. Once I have them pulled over, I could be a jerk and probably find others on each vehicle, even if they are minor things. Just give a random one in ten of being drunk or under the influence of drugs, and you see I already have a leap on those that sit back in the station chairs playing computer games or watching porn, or those who go park to have sex with underage girls/boys, wives, or whatever. Even if I let most of them go with warnings (just to keep others off their butts), I up PR by ten fold, almost as much as others damage it.

Seems to me like if we have too many laws and not enough cops we should just get rid a lot of the ridiculous laws.

we drive around with ID plates on the car so it's far easier to enforce trivial laws and get tax revenue than catch criminals who don't co-operate by having a large ID badge , it is driving police corruption since tickets = promotions and in many towns parking, camera and other enforcement has been sold off to private corporations so the corruption is even worse

There's so many people breaking those laws, they would need to hire a ton of cops just to keep up with it. As for now, they can just sit back, pick and choose who they want to pull over and fill their quota.

Why don't you obey all laws????

That is life. Cops, like anyone else, always grab for the low hanging fruit first.
