Is my client flirting with me?

A client from work and I get on pretty well and have gone out with a work group before and always have fun.

I have done a big job for him recently and he offered to take me out for a drink last week to say thank you. This was our email exchange:

Him: I completely forgot that I have my parents in town this weekend so I can't make drinks tonight. Sorry - can we reschedule.

Me: Ofcourse :) Just let me know when (and have an awesome weekend with your parents!)

Him: Thanks! I’ll try. We will definitely do something soon though. Promise.

Me: Actually, Tuesday before Easter there is an after work happy hour- We can totally abuse the free drinks and then carry on elsewhere.

Him: Done. Lets use that one and we can always do something early next week if you're keen.

Me: Sorry! I was off yesterday.. I really think I am in the running for employee of the month ;) haha I'm not in again until Friday after today so we might as well leave it until next week but we should try and make it a bit more of a regular thing. I never get to see you because you are upstairs and I am chained to my desk out the back... folding paper planes :p

At this point he came downstairs and he said he was looking forward to the easter happy hour and we can grab dinner aftwerwards with the rest of the cool kids if I wanted. I said that sounded good.

Him: Sounds like a plan. We go usually every Friday so come join us then.

Is this flirting? Or just being friendly?

No, he's not. It's just your sluttily-wired brain that's making you perceive like he is... since you're shallow and hypergamous by nature.

Mr, hot pats ( insert his name here.) on behalf of Tic Tac & Toe company I will be happy to represent you as your legal adviser. Before we begin however there are a few things I'd like to discuss with you regarding our business relationship. First you should know you have chosen the right firm. As your Attorney I will always work in a professional manner with you as my client. We will be working closely for the next while . I will be calling you from time to time to gain more information on your case,as well as having you come into my office to fill out papers etc... We may have business luncheons and work late together including weekends , so I may gain more insight to your case, and to discuss where we are headed. IN NO WAY ( make sure your voice is heard when saying that) should you feel im intiating anything towards you . Its strickly business. As I said im a professional at what I do. So I always like to tell my clients this before we begin so there is no miscommunication. This way your stating it to him like you tell everyone this before you start. and he doesn't feel rejected or alienated. And in the future if he falls off the wagon and trys to flirt with you again remind him of the rules that you follow when working on a clients case. I hope that will help you.
