Cricket Wireless Hotspot..?

Considering getting a Cricket broadband modem to use in my house for my Wi-fi laptop.

My question is, is it basically the same "reception" as a wireless phone?

I ask because the 3G in and around my home isn't the greatest reception anyway, so would I be wasting my time and money?

Anyone have experience with broadband cards or hotspot modems through a phone service??

Thanks

The wireless hotspot is very similar to a cell phone, just without the ability to call or text. If you have poor cellular coverage, then a wireless hotspot will have the same issue.
