He is competing because he wants to and has the ability to still get to the podium. I guess all the MotoGP riders under your suggestion should retire and let Lorenzo do a solo performance LOL..
That Rossi might not have the measure of Lorenzo doesn't affect the spectacle that is MotoGP. He will be much better on a Yamaha even if he isn't a contender for the crown, he is still good for the sport in a very positive way.
Lorenzo is the king now but will he be at the end of 2013? It is going to be hard years racing for the top 5 and it might come down to a few possible champions at the final race, I think it will be that close...

if there is any team who will give him a bike, let him continue. and i'm sure the old man will beat the new king on occasion.
