Any tips/advice on becoming an ESL teacher?
I really want to be an ESL teacher because I strongly believe in the importance of learning English, I want international experience, and I love learning languages (I could learn some of the language of the country I'm teaching in.)
Does anyone have any advice on how to become an ESL teacher, and how to be a great one?

It depends on the type of ESL education you want to do, in schools in an English speaking country or in a non-English speaking country? Paid or unpaid?
If you want to work as an ESL teacher in the US in public schools, you should pursue a bachelors degree of education with an ESL endorsement, that is what I am doing right now, and I love it!
I'm not as sure about the process for being an ESL teacher abroad, but I think that you can do it on a volunteer basis through many organizations such as the Peace Corps, Language Corps, or Globalteers. If you want to get paid for it though you may have to get a TEFL (teaching english as a foreign language) license, which you can do through a university or online.
Hope this helps!
