cost to repair and maintain Saturn ion?
I'd like to know how the cost of repairing a Saturn compares to other types of vehicles. Like, hypothetically, if I needed to get the engine replaced, would that cost more or less or about average compared to others, like fords and other makes. Specifically, I'm looking at getting a 2006 Saturn Ion, and while the information I found says that it's a fairly reliable vehicle, I couldn't find any cost comparisons if I do need to make major repairs or replacements in the future.
Also, is the fact that they don't make them going to be an issue, say 5 or 10 years in the future if I need repairs? How is that going to effect my ability to keep this car going?

The saturn ion will be a cheap and easy car to fix, compared to vw, mazda, nissan and others. U wont have trouble getting parts down the road.

SATURN division went into BANKRUPTCY along with other GM vehicles for good REASONS! TYPE DEXCOOL into BING or YAHOO! and see what happens. The SATURN engine is as good as many other ones. It was engineered in EUROPE and JAPAN< but has SPECIAL NEEDS! The engines most times are now carried over as ECO-TEC engines used by BUICK and CHEVY! <<HERE IS WHAT TO DO>>>>If you BUY IT, get ALL fluids flushed and filled. This means BRAKE FLUID and trans fluid and steering fluid as well. Use ONLY the DELCO BRAKE FLUID< but when you flush and fill the COOLANT DO NOT USE DEXCOOL!!! Use TOYOTA or MERCEDES YELLOW coolant! this will protect the engine from gasket failure with time! NEVER USE WAX based cheap oils in it. Get used to using either PENNZOIL ULTRA, AMSOIL or MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil! the PENNZOIL carries a 15 year, 500k mile WARRANTY against engine trouble involving the OIL! THE special COOLANT form EUROPE or JAPAN will protect you from INTAKE and HEAD gasket failures with time.>>> ALSO>>> remove the factory plugs and install a set of DENSO or BOSCH IRIDIUM spark plugs! this will protect your CONVERTER and O2 sensors from harm and deterioration! this is SOMETHING I KNOW a LOT about! I have Saturn cars running around with 300k miles on them, but hey ALL got these CHANGES done to them! DEXCOOL is bad for ANY engine, and was proven in many courts of law allover the country! EVERY engine GM made from 1996-2003 and LATER was affected, or CAN be.

They will OUTLAST mos other engiens, and "car-part.com" will ALWYAS have good used ones! as time goes by, cars get into bad ACCIDENTS and are stacked into JUNK YARDS! The 1.9 liter engine is a product of GERMAN engineering. Get a MOTOR FLUSH to remove all traces of OLD BAD oil and slduge on RINGS< timing chains and tensioners, and THEN USE ONLY a good synthetic oil! I recommend TOTAL ENERGY OIL as well, if you can find it! you will have ZERO trouble with time, and the use of IRIDIUM BOSCH Plugs will protect the CONVERTER from failure! go to a junkyard and get a bumper, then have it painted at the automobile. With assurance, it relies upon on your assurance. An Ion is no longer an exceedingly excessive-quality automobile or something so i may desire to in simple terms get a bumper from the junkyard paint it and get in touch with it an afternoon. Its no longer well worth making an assurance declare.
