  • cost to repair and maintain Saturn ion?

I'd like to know how the cost of repairing a Saturn compares to other types of vehicles. Like, hypothetically, if I needed to get the engine replaced, would that cost more or less or about average compared to others, like fords and other makes. Specifically, I'm looking at getting a 2006 Saturn Ion, and while the information I found says that it's a fairly reliable vehicle, I couldn't find any cost comparisons if I do need to make major repairs or replacements in the future.

Also, is the fact that they don't make them going to be an issue, say 5 or 10 years in the future if I need repairs? How is that going to effect my ability to keep this car going?

  • When do leaves appear on muscadine vines?

I just bought some muscadine vines on ebay. These are actually coming from only about a hour from where I live.

The problem is that these have no leaves or buds and look dead. I'm thinking they should at least have buds on them at this time of year. Everything else is green and lush in my area with full-grown leaves (Tennessee, lower zone 6).

These were sent bare-root, but have stems that are 1-2' high. The stems are brown, and don't look very lively.

If you have muscadines, do they have leaves on them yet? or buds?

  • Debits and credits and confusion; Oh My!!?

Debits and credits and confusion; Oh My!!

I am pretty smart and usually understand things pretty easily including anatomy and physiology. But I read about debits and credits in two different books on financial accounting, plus looked it up in wikipedia, and it has got to be one of the most confusing, non-sensical concepts I have ever run across. The books start by saying this will simplify the book keeping, and then proceed to an explanation that doesn't make any sense at all. Did they do this on purpose just to confuse people and make them feel stupid?

Can anyone explain "Debits and Credits" to me in a way that actually makes sense? I usually remember things better when they fit together well, like pieces of a puzzle that work together. Can anyone give me anything to help me learn this concept?

    Thanks!

  • What is a dual-head stethoscope?

    What is a dual-head stethoscope?

Info on how this is different from other stethoscopes and how it compares to other stethoscopes would be nice. What are the alternatives to a dual-head stethoscope? How common are they?

I'm required to get one for nursing school, and like-a-dummy, I bid on a stethoscope before I realized I didn't know if it was a dual-head. It is the littmann cardiology III.

  • know anything about e cigarettes?

My mom is a smoker and she wants to try these. She's not computer savvy, so she's asked me to help her. There's lots of different brands out there. Can anyone share their experiences, good or bad, with these companies and their products. And does anyone know where I can find unbiased reviews? Thanks!

  • What editions of Tolkien books have really good illustrations?

I'm looking for books for my son for Christmas. He is a tween, and already has the hobbit and lord of the Rings series. I'm looking to get him the Silmarillion and maybe a few other books or short stories by Tolkien.

I'd like to get editions with good illustrations, but I haven't been able to find much information on this. Anyone have any info? The more specific, the better, as in how many illustrations or maps, etc. Thanks!

  • Anyone have this problem with Facebook?

Something happened to me on Facebook that made me scared to post anything anywhere. Can anyone give me some insight?

I got a pop-up message on Facebook that I was blocked from posting comments because I had "abused" this feature by leaving too many comments. What??? There was no explanation or communication about what this meant.

So I tried to get info about it on the site. I guess they usually give people several warnings if they are posting too many comments before they block them. But sometimes, for people who are very offensive, they just block them. I didn't post that many comments, and I said nothing offensive. So, I don't get it.

Under 'how much is too much' it says they don't have a specific amount. Its just whatever they feel like. It also says you could be blocked for a few hours or days, but they don't tell you how long. Then they say if you post when you are still blocked, they will extend the time you are blocked, but they don't tell you how long it is in the first place.

I had no idea this would happen. They didn't tell me that they were a social network who only allow a small amount of socializing a week. Now I'm scared of it happening in other places.

Its not fun to be randomly insulted and punished with no warning or explanation. Could this have been a fluke or something?

  • Help a nursing student with a paper?

I am taking Microbiology and want to write a paper on the following diseases:

    1. The top five infectious diseases which cause the most deaths worldwide.

    2. The top five infectious diseases which cause the most deaths in the US.

    3. The top five infectious diseases which are most likely to cause death if you contract them- especially a fairly quick and awful death.

I know I've seen statistics on some of these before on the CDC and WHO websites, but I can't seem to find them now. Can anyone help and/or give me a link?

    Thanks
