paramaterizing an eclipse by arc length?
The ellipse with semi major axis a and semi minor axis b has parametric representation (t) = (acost; b sint).
Why is this more dicult to parametrize by arc length than the circle? can a new function be invented to make it easier?
im having trouble with this question. dont really have any idea of what to do.

The reason for the difficulty lies in the fact that to parametrize the arc length of an ellipse, we encounter the same problem as when we try to find the circumference of an ellipse.
