Should I take the SAT as a Freshman?

As my Freshman year is about to end, I've already been looking into colleges, and what most admissions counselors and my own guidance counselor advised me to, if I can, take the PSAT/SAT to see where I am, even if I know I won't do as well as juniors/seniors. They say it will help me get a feel for the test. I will be able to get a discount on the fee. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I would. At least you can see what the test is like. Does your school allow you guys to take your PSAT freshman year? That's weird. My school only allows Sophomores to take it. I'll be taking it next year.

No. Take the PSAT only. Your SAT score will usually end up being 12 times your PSAT score if you take your SAT at the end of your Junior Year. You can also take Free Online SAT tests. There is no sense paying for the official SAT test when you already know that your score will likely be 200 points lower than what it will be in your Junior year - you can figure it out for free on the Free Online Practice tests. And, then it won't show that you took it twice when you apply to Universities.
