Hair Problem; Air-dry or blow-dry?

Hi.

Not to brag, but when I air-dry my hair, I get these amazing waves. Sometimes, big curls. Whatever. The only problem is that when I air-dry, the hair on my crown sticks to my scalp. It does not look good. I get pyramid head. Also, my hair gets reallllly oily very quickly if I don't blow-dry.

When I blow-dry, my crown is nice and poofy, and it doesn't stick to my head. The problem here is that my actual body of hair is kinda frizzy and really... bland? Maybe that's the word. It's not straight, but not curly. It's ugly at the bottom. What should I do?

I have a Revlon blow-dryer with a big diffuser. I've never tried it. Are there any tutorials for using a diffuser on white people's wavy hair? (I know they have a lot on black people curls).

Thank you people!

Update:

I forgot; I have looonnng brunette hair.

Update 2:

I have some Suave dry shampoo which is really inexpensive and good, but I don't want to use it all the time. :D

I have tried baby powder, but it looks really bad.

Update 3:

I have an Igia Ion-Aire; http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=igia+i... without the diffuser and a Revlon 1600w, similar to this one:http://www.google.com/search?um=1&hl=en&client=ope...

Blow drying gives you a lot more control over your hair so I suggest you get one of those blow dryers with ionic technology. They remove the static from the hair so you'll have smooth, straight hair in no time at all 'cause they're also pretty fast! I highly recommend the karmin g3 salon pro hair dryer, it's great!

my sister has this exact problem and she air drys it but then at your roots you need to apply a powder called ''powder punch'' or got2b ''powderful'' which you can buy from a health/beauty shop such as boots or superdrug.

it basically separates your hair and volumise's it at the roots and then it stays perfectly in place and doesn't stick your scalp

as for getting greasy hair quickly i would recommend using cry shampoo spray to make it look less greasy but it can be rather expensive so my secret trick is to use baby powder on the area of my hair thats greasy then brush it through and you no longer have greasy hair - also bottles of baby powder last months and months longer than dry shampoo and its really cheap!

    hope i helped:)

It looks like you should blow dry your hair. There are tutorials on how to use a diffuser but don't get too carried away.
