Why is my Lenovo Y500 not running Skyrim well?
One reason i purchased this laptop is because it's acclaimed as being an excellent Gaming laptop, and that's what I wanted. So, as I tried to run Skyrim today, It ran HORRIBLE. I had it set on low-high settings, and it still was terrible. I see all these videos of people playing it on high settings, but I can't run it good on LOW.... I am extremely angry because I may have just invested $800+ into something that doesn't do what I want it too, and I feel like a wasteful fool. But, come on! With all the video evidence out there, I must not be doing something right. Any insight or thoughts?

The Lenovo Y500 is more of an iPad or Netbook, than it is a Gaming Laptop.
NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 2GB? If so, you need to set the graphics settings on the dedicated GPU chip. These Lenovos come pre-set to save power and graphic chip usage, so resetting this should get you going.
This shows its performance rating, which is not super great, but should be good: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/gefo...
Cannot seem to find settings for the Y500. Closest thing we can find is the Y570 here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.p...
EDIT:
If this doesn't help, could you post your hardware specs for this Lenovo? This can help us help you better.

Just browse to the Skyrim.exe file.
Then Select the High Performance Nvidia Processor.
