Is there the same amount of water on earth as in the past?

Is there the same amount of water in the oceans and in other bodies of water as in the past such as millions of years ago?

Does any water escape the earth from its use in anyway? Does the sun absorb any of it when the sunrays hit the earth?

Yes. Most of the water on the planet has been here since the oceans originally formed. A small amount is lost each year as the H20 in the air breaks down into Hydrogen and Oxygen (lightning, cosmic ray impacts, etc.) and the hydrogen is lost to space but that is replaced by out gassing from the interior and by impacts of meteorites and cometary debris. The vast majority of water molecules are either tied up in the oceans or just keep constantly recycling through the atmosphere.

The water cycle is a particularly closed cycle. meaning that there is almost continually the comparable volume of water interior the gadget. Now there are exterior factors that permit small quantities of water to be added to the gadget, like meteor crashes usher in a small volume of water in any type. yet we residing sparkling water ingesting organisms have an exceedingly small volume of water to drink. The metaphor that i reference is taking each and all the water in the international and putting it in a 2L bottle, then take a eye dropper and pull out 5mL. it fairly is approximately how plenty sparkling water we organisms ought to apply at any element in time. it particularly is getting smaller with the aid of pollutants via guy. i don't be attentive to pertaining to to the meteor concept or the theory that waters continually been right here. yet like I mentioned, the water cycle is a particularly closed gadget. i'm hoping I helped you which ones comprise your question.

Some water escapes and some water outgases from the earth. It is roughly the same as "millions" of years ago but not exactly.

i would say no,because of the evaporation because of the sun,s heat ,but then i would say yes because if we have a very bad winter (like the one we just had ) and the snow starts to melt and goes back into our lakes and streams and in time ends up in the sea.
