Red lasers aren't visible in daylight at more than about 10 yards. That's simple physics- the wavelength of red light makes it relatively low-powered and dim for anything that a consumer can own, especially when compared to other wavelengths.
A green laser would be visible for 30-40 yards in daylight, even if it was a low-powered version. A 5mW green laser is MUCH brighter than a similarly-powered red laser.
