Osama was never captured. So he was never brought to court or a trial regarding 9/11, so in that sense he was not "found guilty." But the evidence, including his own proud testimony, all points to him.
He proudly talked about how he had planned it, how the men who carried out the operations didn't even know until they were on board that they were about to go on a suicide mission. He talked about the fact that he had studied architecture and knew how buildings were put together, and this helped him form the plan to use fuel-laden passenger planes as weapons, as the fuel would run down inside the building and burn very hot, and further weaken to steel supports, making the buildings collapse. I watched a video of him and his friends talking about it afterwards, and they were all very happy and gratified with the events.
Considering this and alone, it is evident that Osama was the mastermind planner of 9/11.
No admirer of Osama denied that he had done this; they were proud of it.
The government investigation got a lot more evidence than that, and came to the same conclusion.
Around the same time, a number of people in the USA died from weaponized anthrax disease sent through the mail, and people wondered whether it was related to the 9/11 attacks. A reporter talking to Osama before he announced his responsibility, asked him whether he ordered 9/11; and he did not answer. When asked whether he ordered the anthrax attacks, he laughed and said he had nothing to do with it. He never denied the 9/11 attacks, even when he hadn't admitted therm yet.

In 2004 Bin Laden admitted he was responsible for planning and executing the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US. Was he found guilt? Well not in a a court of law. There was no trial for him. However, he was the one who did it, so he is technically responsible and "guilty" of the terror plot.

If you can take a look at bin Laden's FBI wanted poster, he was never wanted for 9/11.

He wasn't the "mastermind" of 9/11, that "honor" goes to Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. bin Laden's only association with 9/11 was indirect as the head of Al Qaida. He was definitely and directly implicated in the attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania - because in one of his taped diatribes he admitted complicity in the planning of those attacks..

Not in a court of law, but he announced to the world he and Al Queda were responsible.
