Apart from the standard chocolate Easter eggs (and I have a personal preference for dark chocolate), I am rather partial to those marshmallow eggs covered in chocolate. I have never seen chocolate covered jelly beans here in Ireland. And chocolate covered bacon? Can't even imagine it.

Well, eye candy is fine by me. Honestly, fresh fruit is about as sweet as I can stand these days (and the summer fruits/melons/pineapples are coming into season, yum). When I was younger, I liked Peeps, the small (not fancy) jelly beans and those malted milk balls that looked likek small speckled eggs. If I ate the chocolate easter things, I liked the ones with rice krispies in them. But, I actually always preferred the real hard boiled colored eggs over the candy--there's just something about the colored eggs (and the vinegar taste) that I really really like--and my niece who used to make eggs for me every Easter is living out of the country so I get no colored eggs, sigh. (Yea, yea, I know I could make them myself, even bought several boxes of the egg coloring kits but food always taste so much better when someone else makes it.)

Hate Peeps. Hate jelly beans, though they do smell so good. Give me a chocolate bunny any old time!

As to bacon, give me hickory smoked and chocolate-free. Have you ever tried bacon ice cream? It's really not bad, but I wouldn't actually buy it.

I made my weekly trip to town for groceries today. If the breadth of the average shopper is any indication.I think you should all abstain from candy this holiday. Abstain from eating and giving it out.

If you can't manage that, take a cue from Dorthy C and just have a little bit of halvia.
