For fans of the original 'Dead Zone' with Christopher Walken, what made it such a great movie?

It's one of my favorite horror films, faithful to the Stephen King novel, and cast perfectly. It was bloody but not gratuitous and had great tension. That's my view, anyway. What do you think?

    The Dead Zone is probably one of the best film adaptations of a King Book. Good writing, good casting and good pacing made for a really good film.

    What made it great? Two things, Stephen King and Christoper Walken. One of my faviorite authors and about my favorite actor.
