What is the purpose of asking a question? If the person answering is just saying idk?
Hi community members,
What is the purpose of asking a question? If the person answering is just saying Idk!=Why even bother putting idk? I give Best or what I think is a best & some twinking stars.
Additional Details: if your a troll don't waste my time, if you just start answering on March 20 have a level 7 don't waste my time.
I know about the rules & guide lines!! I don't however have to go read guide lines or rules every time a Top Contributor thinks so. It's just common sense in Yahoo! ANSWERS. Sometimes I have common sense & sometimes I just DON'T care.
The janitor I used the yahoo rules quiz @ the same time your answer was very informative but I believe the 1st person who answers should be award the points that way we''ll (community members will have more TC. So thanks a lot.

People on Yahoo! Answers may answer "IDK" or other rude, unhelpful answers, because they're trying to get points. I believe that answering earns you 2 points, while asking costs you 5 points.
Sorry if this was short, I just don't think much else can be said.

All questions should be asked to obtain useful knowledge or advice of general interest to the community. Non-answers are not allowed here. This is a user-moderated site. If you're the user who saw the non-answer, you're the user who needs to report it. 'Nuf said 'bout that.
This is an information exchange site -- not a chat room or social contact site or discussion forum. Questions here must be seeking knowledge or advice of general interest to the community. Answers must attempt to answer the question.
Many things that would be fine on a social site or in a chat room are definitely not ok here, as this is an information exchange site. Because its aim is different, its rules are different. It's really not very wise to agree to something and then not find out what the something really is.
When you signed up to use this site, you agreed to follow the Community Guidelines here. Please read them. They are short and only take a real minute to read through. Then you'll see exactly what kind of site this is and isn't. The Guidelines are found under the ABOUT tab at the top of the page.
Once you've read them, there is even a short quiz you can take that can get you 20 extra points. http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines... It also lets you know if you have understood the Guidelines as well as you think you have. Violations cost 10 points each. Be sure you know how to avoid them.

'IDK' is NOT an answer, ever. So, report it.
This site is open to anyone with a Yahoo! email account. There are rules, we agreed to follow them when we created our Yahoo! Answers accounts, and we can (and should) report anything we see which does not fall within the guidelines of the site.
However, some users signed up without ever reading the guidelines and without knowing that there ARE rules which must be followed. They 'learn' about the rules when they receive violations (and lose points) for posting content which is not allowed. Hard way to learn!
If an answer does not make an actual attempt to answer your question, please report it. An answer like 'IDK' is pointgaming and/or a 'non-answer'.
If an answer is insulting to you, or to someone else, please report that, too.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

They are point gaming just to get the 2 points.
As you will see in the Community Guidelines those kinds of answers are violation and in my opinion you should just report them and don't moan to us about your problems

i've noticed a lot of trolls do that just for the points, i guess since they lose so many having their stuff reported, they need easy points to make up for it.

Those users can't be bothered to answer peoples questions, since they have
made no attempt to answer your question posting idk is reportable as a non
answer.Simply report those because they're of no use to anyone.
Basically they don't know the answer or just don't care, posting idk is a useless
non answer but they get 2 points for it.
If you have no answers that help to answer your question, use the action bar
while the question is open & select delete question.
