Why do certain goals fail consistently?

Why do we sometimes find ourselves failing long term goals such as improving our grades at school, getting fit or learning a new skill or starting a new hobby? This happens to me and I don't have an answer. I have the motivation at the beginning but then some way somehow I'm unsuccessful. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter??

maybe you're not plotting it out well enough. if you want to achieve something new, ask yourself "how can i?" and do some research. if you find some methods and you're okay with them, go for it. without a serious outline motivation drops a lot after the beginning, that's totally normal. good luck

Because you're focusing on a result, but forget your need to change the formula/dynamic to create that result.

Long-term goals are fairy-tales, because it's pretending you're somewhere(in the future) you're not. Just do the right thing NOW, the future takes care of itself if you keep doing the right thing right now, in the moment.
