Online shops VAT (UK) and other taxes?
Hi
I have been looking at online shopping and setting up a shop and was looking for a little clarification in regards to taxes.
If I was to set up a shop online hosted in the UK and registered as a UK company, I’d have to charge VAT on items sold within the UK, but what would happen if I sold to someone outside the UK, do you charge VAT as a UK company or do you charge the local equivalent? Say I sold to someone in the USA, would they see the price plus VAT or would they have to see the price plus US Sales Tax?
Thanks in advance

If the goods are in the UK, then the supply is subject to VAT regardless of where you sell them.
If you sold goods to a customer in the USA, VAT would not apply only if you shipped direct from a place outside the EU to the USA.

You are out of your depth - either pay an accountant for an hour lecture on the basics or go to gov.uk for the basics. It is not just VAT (and registering is optional to start with) it the whole accounting and paying taxes that is going to hurt you.
