long distance relationship question?

So I went on a first date with a girl (we're both freshman in college at a school in Chicago) and we connected really well and im pretty sure she really likes me too. Only problem is she plans on transferring to Ohio State (she's from Columbus) after this year. We've got a month left of school then she'll be permanently 6 hours away. So is it worth it to try and start a relationship? I feel like if i dont i'll regret it and it'll kill me on the inside all summer. The other option is to try a relationship in the last 5 weeks of school and see where we stand when the years over but im nervous i could get overly attached in that time period.

Ive never had a relationship longer than a month in high school so pretty much anything of this regard is uncharted waters for me. Any advice from people with experience?

They work when both decide to make the effort. The key is not to get clingy and to talk things through. She should know how much you care about her. At the beginning she might be distant because she has to establish herself in this new place. It really doesn't matter what your past its if you care about her and you should really consider if you want to constantly think about the "What if.."

In my own experience, it was tough but it was extremely rewarding. I wish you all the best.
