He looks to quite trust in human kindness and salvation- such as his selections to stay very poorly and attempt to help people- the feet washing element is an old custom, this is a demonstration of being concerned and recognize when you're down on their success. i imagine the prisoners are frequently considered as evil people and doubtless he wanted to certain that making blunders takes position, and forgiveness is significant too.

To show that he is serving the people. Christ washed the feet of His desciples for the same reason.

In the bible, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.

The point is...he's a traitor to his own faith. This new pope is acting very strangely.
